#CES2014 Keynote Speakers:  Yahoo’s Marissa Mayer, Sony’s Kaz Hirai, Twitter’s Dick Costolo, and Publicis’ Maurice Levy Highlights

Marissa Mayer announced Yahoo’s new media sites and its newly-acquired Aviate- which helps organize apps in a mobile app management platform. The new generation of mobile advertising is here with Yahoo advertising.  The Bottom Line: Yahoo is a mobile company looking into simplifying its business across all aspects to deliver original content directly to the consumer. Two big media names, David Pogue (who was hired last year) and Katie Couric, are involved heavily within Yahoo media columnist and upcoming video series engagements. “Yahoo is a technology company, their heart is in media” said Mayer. #yahooCES

Kazuo Hirai, CEO of Sony, has the “WOW” factor judging from the stellar timeline of what Sony has accomplished in the past decades. This year, Sony unveiled several phones, 4k TVs, wearable devices, and even a gaming console. Hirai discussed Sony’s successes and failures – very authentic and transparent things to share – and they came straight from the CEO.  “Harnessing technology talent within Sony that drives better content and delivery” is how the company has “great storytelling at Sony Pictures,” said Hirai. He then invited up Michael Lynton of Sony Pictures and Vince Gilligan of Emmy Award-winning Breaking Bad to discuss content and the role new technology plays in consumer experiences. “Integrating the existing format with new technology is creating a new experience… whether it is in the world of entertainment, gaming or others” said CEO Hirai. #sonyCES

I tweeted up points from the Brand Matters keynote withTwitter CEO Dick Costolo and Publicis Groupe CEO Maurice Levy who kicked off the discussion at brand matters keynote at LVH.
